• WE ARE NOW VIDEOCASTING THE REGULAR SERVICES of Shorewood Bible Church at ShorewoodBiblechurch.org. If you would like to join us the service times are Sundays at 9:30 & 10:45 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. These are Central Time. The complete service is broadcast so you can join us for singing (and announcements!) and all the rest, along with the study of the rightly divided Word. Simply go to the web site at service time and follow the directions on the front page. We usually start the streaming about 5 minutes before the appointed time. Ya'll come!
• THE OBSERVANCE OF THE LORD'S SUPPER has long been a point of contention among various branches of Christendom. Paul's instructions in I Corinthians 11 make it abundantly clear that it is designed to provide special instructive value for the local church. Rethinking The Lord's Supper is an article by Richard Jordan that provides insight in both the meaning, procedure and value of the Lord's Supper. • TWO COMPLETE SETS OF GRACE SCHOOL OF THE BIBLE CLASSES ON DVD has been shipped to communist China. Through contacts with "underground" house-church networks, these classes will be distributed among literally thousands of believers hungry--and receptive--for the message of grace and the Word rightly divided. Pray for these developments. It will not be until the Judgment Seat of Christ that we learn the fruit. There are scores of "new" grace believers across China! UPDATE: Already underway is an impressive project to translate the classes into Mandrian along with the training of key pastors. • THE MOTION PICTURE VERSION OF DAN BROWN'S BLOCKBUSTER NOVEL, THE DAVINCI CODE, has created quite a stir. While neither the book nor the movie are the "be all and end all" of such stories, the uninformed will no doubt take much of this to heart. Numerous works have been produced to demonstrate the lack of historic credibility in Brown's work As I read the book (yes, I read the book, but only after it came out in paperback--and I have seen the movie too!) I kept wondering how Brown could have made such obviously bogus assertions when he knew they would be easily rebutted. Although I haven't yet seen this pointed out in other reviews, I think this can be explained by the hidden code embedded in the story by the author himself suggesting his plot should not be believed. • MARVIN TAYLOR SINGS AGAIN on his latest album, See What the Cross Has Done. Once again Marvin thrills our hearts with his beautiful singing and clear grace-oriented message as he performs twelve more gospel songs. The title song is another original by Marvin and once again the mix includes old time favoites. If you enjoy good gospel singing, done "southern style," you will want this for your enjoyment and edification.
• HELPERSOFYOURJOY.COM is the new web site of Berean Bible Ministries, San Juan Capistrano, California. Pastored by our good friend and fellow soldier, John Verstegen, this assembly has been holding forth the message of grace across southern California for decades. Visit this site often to hear Brother Verstegen's teaching ministry.
• Seeing sound doctrine operating in the reality of a believer's life is an exciting thing. Recently we received an article from a dear friend that demonstrates the "real answers" that grace provides to the "real issues of real life." Take a moment and read this penetrating look into the inner working of God's Word in the open heart of a saint who learned a touching lesson about "not I, but Christ."
